Community Guidelines
RateIt
Last updated: 30 June 2026
These guidelines explain how to write a review that helps people and holds up. They sit alongside our Content Policy, which is the formal rulebook. Think of the Content Policy as the law and these guidelines as the practical advice.
Write only about what you experienced
The best review on RateIt is a first hand account of something that actually happened to you. You bought from a seller, you visited a clinic, you used a service. Write that. Do not write about something you heard, something you assume, or something that happened to someone else.
If you did not deal with the business yourself, you are not the right person to review it.
Be specific and factual
A useful review says what happened. What you ordered or used, what went right or wrong, how the business responded. Specifics help the next person decide, and they also make your review credible. "They took my payment and never shipped, here is the order number" is worth far more than "scammers, avoid".
Keep facts as facts and opinions as opinions. You are always free to share your honest opinion. Be careful about stating something as a fact unless you know it is true, because a false statement of fact about a business can be defamation under Pakistani law, and that is a risk to you, not just to them.
Bring your proof
RateIt is built around proof, because proof is what separates a real review from a fake one. When you have it, attach it:
A consignment or tracking number for something you ordered. A transaction or wallet reference for a payment you made. A receipt or invoice. A photo from your visit.
The more you can show, the higher the proof tier your review earns, and the more weight it carries. Your proof is stored privately. We use it to verify your review; we do not show your receipt or your transaction number to the public.
You can review without proof, but a verified review counts for more, and that is by design.
Keep it honest, keep it clean
Do not write a review you were paid or rewarded to write, unless the incentive is clearly disclosed and allowed. Do not review your own business or a rival's. Do not post someone's private information. Do not threaten or harass. Do not use a review to advertise or to pull people off the platform. These break our Content Policy and will be removed.
How reviews get published
Your review goes through moderation before it appears. Most genuine reviews publish quickly. Some are held briefly for a person to look at, especially if something looks unusual. Being held is not an accusation. It is the system being careful so that fake reviews do not slip through and genuine ones are not lost.
If a business responds or disputes
A business can reply to your review in public. It cannot delete or change it. If a business believes your review is unfair, it can dispute it, and a person at RateIt will look. If your review is an honest account of a real experience, we will keep it up, and you and the business can both have your say in public. That is how it should work.
Your reputation
The more genuine, verified, helpful reviews you write, the stronger your reviewer reputation becomes, and the more your future reviews are trusted. Fake or abusive activity damages it. Build it honestly.
A note on staying safe and fair
When you check a seller you do not know, especially an online seller, a sensible habit is to prefer cash on delivery where you can, and to keep your proof of any payment. If you are the first person to deal with a business on RateIt, your honest, verified review is genuinely valuable to everyone who comes after you.
